Cartridge World is the world leader in printer cartridge refilling and recycling. Since its foundation in Australia in 1988, Cartridge World has been transformed from a suburban Adelaide store into a global giant, one of the world’s fastest growing franchises, operating in more than 25 countries with over 1,000 franchises.

We are a one-stop-shop for all inkjet, laser, fax and photocopier needs. We recycle cartridges, and sell new cartridges and a wide range of printer accessories.

Cartridge World started its first UK outlet in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, in 2001 and has since opened over 280 retail stores across Britain.

Refilling makes sense

Advances in information technology over the past two decades have created massive dependency on computers and printers. Consequently, refilling printer cartridges has become one of the fastest growing industries in the world. In servicing this market, Cartridge World has successfully provided an environmentally sound, economical solution to the growing costs of replacing cartridges.

Almost all inkjet and toner cartridges can either be refilled or remanufactured. A recycled printer cartridge refilled with toner can be resold for approximately half the price of a new one, providing substantial saving with equal function. Additionally, refilling the cartridge supports local communities by reducing waste and protecting the environment.

The facts are indisputable. Over 47 million cartridges go into UK landfill sites each year and this is increasing annually (Recycler Magazine, Dec 2000). Each cartridge can then take over 450 years to decompose. In a period of just 12 months, cartridge recycling could save 15 million litres of oil in the UK.
