Jani-Kings vision in the UK is to build a network of franchisees with turnover exceeding £1 million per annum. We aim to get your turnover up to £1 million between years three and five. While the average margins are currently over 10 per cent, a number of franchisees are already averaging over 15 per cent net and top performers are earning nearer 20 per cent net.
We do the selling
Our sales team will win the contracts for you so you don't have to worry about where the work will come from. So confident are we in our ability to secure contracts for new franchisees that we offer a margin guarantee that enables the franchisee to buy a specified level of turnover for their business. For example, should Jani-King have offered a franchise owner £22,000 worth of business by a certain month but had been unable to deliver any business to the owner, then Jani-King's guarantee is that they will pay the franchisee £2,200 per month (equivalent to margins of 10 per cent). That's an extremely powerful safety net. Once you have been offered contracts to the value of £264,000 of annualised turnover, we will help you to move on to the £500,000 mark and then the magical £1 million mark. Our largest franchise owner now turns over in excess of £2 million.
Setting you up for success
Jani-Kings training is designed to provide you with a level of expertise beyond the rest of the market. Our training centre is a BICSc Centre of Excellence. As well as practical cleaning training, franchisees receive 'trainer training which enables them to train every member of their own staff. Ongoing training and support as you build your Jani-King business are key features of the franchise package.

Ongoing monthly contracts and no pressure to sell appealed to Keith and Gill Burgess, whose business rocketed from two contracts to 27 in just two months. Following that rapid start they went on to become the first Jani-King franchise owners with a £1 million turnover, and grew to almost £1.5 million in their last two years. They operated a full management franchise employing four full-time regional managers overseeing the cleaning teams, while Keith and Gill built the business.
It helps enormously to have a head office team selling for you and providing work on a regular basis. It's a great tool for planning business growth. You also have the support of an established worldwide brand driving you forward, says Gill.

"A great return on our initial investment!" Having invested in their Jani-King franchise in 1996, Keith and Gill built it up to about £500,000 in their first few years. "Then Jani-King introduced its new Management Franchise programme and our business surged forward to over £1.5 million turnover," recalls Keith. "At its peak we were making in excess of £200,000 profit which was a great return on our initial franchise investment of £30,000!" Gill adds, "When we felt the time was right to retire, we accepted an offer on the business for a very substantial sum. While it doesn't quite make us millionaires, it's not far off!"
