Chem-Dry is the world's leading carpet cleaner, as ranked by Entrepreneur Magazine for 25 years in a row. Chem-Dry's goal is to help people have cleaner and healthier lives, and this begins by having a clean home. Chem-Dry recently topped the 'Best of the Best' list in Entrepreneur's magazine and have a market share of more than 7%, ahead of all other companies in that industry. It continues to grow and produce remarkable results by removing 98% of household allergens from carpets, and that's without mentioning rugs and other upholstery cleaning.

It was founded by Robert Harris in 1977. Throughout university, Harris had been working in a carpet cleaning company, but was unsatisfied by the cleaning products. This motivated him to study and experiment until he discovered a carbonated solution like no other. It was revolutionary and gave life to Chem-Dry, which now serves over 52 countries and cleans 10,000 homes and businesses a day. Some of its European locations include Belgium, Denmark, Great Britain, Poland, France and Sweden.

Franchise System

The Chem-Dry Investment Model is one that has been repeatedly successful over the years, as franchises have done nothing but grow and grow. In terms of investing in Chem-Dry, entrepreneurs with more capital will be able to lock down more territories and secure more licences, but it all depends on the individual’s financial situation. Chem-Dry does offer financial help. The financing system in place allows in-house franchising to be covered by Chem-Dry up until the fourth month. Chem-Dry have a long history of being dedicated to raising money for breast cancer. Over the last three years, the company have raised more than $100,000 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, and it is a foundation that will continue to lie close to the heart of Chem-Dry.

Environment

Chem-Dry are dedicated to providing its customers with a clean and healthy house. The company uses a green certified solution called The Natural, which doesn't contain soaps or detergents so it is safe for children and pets. Not only that, but because it is a non-toxic solution, the cleaning of carpets and upholstery does little harm to the environment.

The company also monitors their wastage of water. Chem-Dry use only one-fifth the amount of water used by their steam-cleaning competitors.

News

In 2017, Chem-Dry partnered with Best Friends Animal Society, a cause that is close to the company's heart. Their aim is to encourage more pet adoption and their goal is to raise $25,000 to help the cause. They will do this by selling specially marked cans of their famous spot remover as well as encouraging direct online donations. Chem-Dry will also participate in the 'Strut your Mutt' events that Best Friends organise around the country.
