From 09 - 11 November 2023, Franchise Expo Germany will open its doors for the sixth time at Messe Frankfurt for the entire franchise industry and those who are interested in it.

Also last year, the organizer MFV/Comexposium in cooperation with the German Franchise Association offered the approximately 2500 trade fair participants an impressive, international market place with 118 brands from all over the world and 45 lectures & workshops. The first Expo 2018 laid a foundation for a new international franchise trade fair in Germany.

The target group of Franchise Expo are potential start-ups, existing franchisees and franchisors, investors and companies they want to expand via franchising. The largest visitor group the evaluations show, are employees who want to "do your own thing". With the slogan "My vocation - my life!", the trade show organization will continue to rely on existing franchise partners as testimonials and report on their stories and hero's journeys.

Economic situation

The basis for a successful trade fair is the current economic situation in the franchise industry.

The current franchise statistics of the German Franchise Association reflect the upward trend: Despite multiple crises, the German franchise industry shows a positive development trend in 2022. Around 930 franchise systems, with 144,014 franchise partners, employ a total of 814,304 people (+3.4% compared to 2021).

Franchise operations have increased by 2.8% compared to 2021. "Die "The recruitment of new franchise partners remains a burning issue at present, as does the labor market bottleneck that is being felt everywhere. This is clear from the current survey and from the many personal discussions we have had with our members.

However, the fact that franchise systems are finding ways and means to continue growing is shown by the comparatively stronger increase in the number of operations. In addition to expanding their own locations, this speaks in favor of alternative growth strategies such as multi-unit franchises, in order to bridge the current expansion stagnation," reports Jan Schmelzle, Managing Director of the German Franchise Association.
