About This Video
| The MBE Franchise Video Discovery Day is the brand's flagship walkthrough asset for prospective master franchisees and country-level operators — a guided tour of the world's biggest Mail Boxes Etc. store, located in El Prat (near Barcelona airport) and led by Giuseppe Bergonzi, MBE's country manager since 2016 and the executive in charge of international franchise development. Bergonzi has been with MBE since 1999 across the pilot store, operational support, retail network development (selling licences in Spain), and country management roles — the full institutional perspective on what makes an MBE territory successful. The store itself is the largest in the network not by floor area alone but by revenue — the in-person proof point that the MBE model scales to flagship volumes when an operator builds the right book of customers. Bergonzi walks through the centre's three operational zones in turn. The retail area at the front serves walk-in customers across packing, shipping, printing, marketing, and domiciliation services. The graphic design and printing area extends across large-format (any poster size, plus the brand's reach-surface printing for doors and panels) and small-format (folders, catalogues, flyers, leaflets, restaurant menus). The office area houses the sales administration and customer-care team that monitors every shipped parcel from the day before to confirm on-time delivery. The warehouse tour is where the operating engine becomes legible to a prospective franchisee. MBE vans arrive daily loaded with parcels, every package loads onto a conveyor belt, passes through a scanner that weighs and measures each item, and the dimensional and weight data feeds into the IT system that produces the airway bills. Once labels print, the parcels stage for carrier pickup. The customer mix Bergonzi describes spans the categories: private (students going abroad, couples shipping holiday luggage, immigrants, expats, tourists), small offices, professionals, and SMEs. |
